About Us

Top Box Studios Ltd

Top Box Studios is an Award-Winning Creative Arts Production Company located in the Heart of the West Midlands. Our Arts Academy has been established for over 10 years, delivering tuition and licensed theatre group performances in local theatres. More recently, the company has expanded its services as an examination centre and now provides professional training in Singing, Dancing, Acting & Film, Instrumental, and Music Theory. We also provide Studio Vocal Recording and Engineering, Graphic Design, Photography, Videography, and school holiday activities delivered by our in-house team. Students are given opportunities to be entered for Trinity College London and LAMDA examinations in all disciplines alongside the delivery and assessment of Arts Award qualifications.

 

Top Box Studios Ltd have been appointed as a registered exam centre for Trinity College London and LAMDA Music and Drama Examinations including Music Practical Grade and Certificate exams (Classical and Jazz), Rock & Pop, Music and Drama Diplomas (Trinity ATCL, LTCL, FTCL), Music Theory Grade exams, Music Diplomas in Theory and Composition and Graded Exams in Drama/Musical Theatre.

 

Theatre Group Rehearsals and Masterclasses are planned by qualified teachers, Arts Award assessors and Sing4Health practitioners. One to One Singing and Piano tuition is also available upon request.

 

We have an enthusiastic team of tutors who strive to provide a structured and professional experience to all our members, promoting confidence, teamwork, and social skills for life. We also invite visiting professional workshop leaders to offer 'one off' specialist training sessions.

Company Director, Head of Vocal and Instrumental Studies

Tracy Anne Wright

Tracy is the Director of Creative Arts and Principal of Top Box Studios. She has over 25 years’ experience as a qualified Performing Arts and Music Teacher and professional singer. Tracy is a classically trained singer, starting her vocal journey at a young age following a paid scholarship for vocal tuition at the Birmingham Conservatoire. She has performed as a Mezzo Soprano soloist and member of various vocal ensembles providing opportunities to sing in incredible venues including Westminster Abbey, St Pauls and Notre Dame Cathedral. She was extremely proud to be invited as the guest soloist to sing at the Palace Theatre's Centenary Celebration Show. One of her first memories was singing at the local theatre and she takes great pride and pleasure in seeing her students enjoy these opportunities. She is very proud to be working alongside a team of equally passionate and creative individuals who offer diverse, original ideas to all projects, bringing opportunities and experiences to our members. Tracy trained at the Leeds College of Music and Birmingham Conservatoire and more recently qualified as a Trinity College London Arts Award assessor and Sing4Health practitioner. Tracy is safeguarding lead at Top Box Studios and is a licensed chaperone.

Head of Dance Studies and Children's Licensing Manager

Georgie Pearce

Georgie has numerous years worth of experience teaching performing arts and has worked with Tracy at Top Box (formerly Vocalize) since 2016. She is also an experienced choreographer whose recent work has included RENT!, Nativity!, Little Shop of Horrors and School of Rock. Georgie has also co-directed and choreographed for Six: Teen Edition, Frozen JR and Oliver! She has completed numerous dance grades with IDTA achieving up to and including intermediate ballet, modern, tap & theatre craft. Georgie has danced alongside a number of industry professional including Pasha Kovalev from Strictly Come Dancing and performed in the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth games handover ceremony. Georgie also has a love for singing and has achieved up to and including grade 8 singing. She now enjoys teaching private one to one lessons and watching students grow in confidence each week. Georgie is our registered first aider and is also a licensed chaperone. She also coordinates the children’s licensing for our shows to ensure all relevant legislation is being complied with and the children are performing in a safe and protected environment. Georgie is excited to be working as part of the Top Box Creative Team on all our upcoming projects and can’t wait to help bring a wide range of opportunities to our members.

Callum W.png

Callum Wright

Callum has been involved in music since he was young, getting involved in theatre at the age of 10 and music production at 18. Callum studied Music Production at ACM Birmingham after his A Levels and has continued to produce for various artists across all of the UK. After completing the Kickstart scheme with Top Box Studios, the company incorporated a Recording suite within their studio where Callum now offers Vocal Engineering and Recording services for singers and rappers alike. Most recently, Callum has released music under his alias ‘C Wright’, starting with his first single ‘Stick To The Pink’ featuring London based Rapper Pes.

Laura Jukes

Laura has been performing from a very young age. She is very passionate about singing and Performing Arts. Laura has taken part in a number of Top Box Theatre Company productions and has also been involved with other local theatre companies since the age of 14. Laura has most recently taken to the stage as Mrs Bedwin in our production of Oliver! She also has experience recording vocal tracks with our in-house music producer. Laura is a qualified first aider and works within education.

Lauren Wright

Lauren has had a love for singing from a very young age and has achieved up to and including her Grade 8 singing. Lauren trained at the Academy of Contemporary Music (ACM), Birmingham, where she achieved a Level 3 Diploma in Music Performance and Production. With a wealth of performance experience across a range of stage productions, she brings both creativity and real-world insight into every lesson. Lauren has a special love for working with younger performers and leads our Rising Stars lessons, where she helps children build confidence, express themselves, and discover the joy of performing in a fun and supportive environment. As a licensed chaperone, Lauren ensures every student feels safe, encouraged, and cared for, allowing them to shine both on and off the stage.

Marianne Midgley

Marianne has had a love of performing arts since a young age and featured in two BBC programmes. She also presented the young people reporters competition on BBC Midlands today. Marianne has taken part in musicals such as Joseph and his Amazing Technicolour Dream Coat, Grease the musical, west side story and Shakespeare’s midsummer nights dream. After gaining her qualification in performing arts at college, Marianne decided to go down the route of teaching. Marianne works as a SEND practitioner within schools in Birmingham and provides support to children and young people with additional needs and their families. Marianne has worked previously as a supervisor at a Birmingham based stage school and has worked backstage at Solihull’s Core theatre. Marianne is due to play Margaret White in Carrie and Mrs Lovett in next years' production of Sweeney Todd.

Grace Laishley

Grace has been a member of Top Box since she was around 6 years old. She has performed as part of Vocalize our Youth Theatre Company in Hairspray (company ensemble), High School Musical (company ensemble), Addams Family (Wednesday), School of Rock (company ensemble), Six: Teen Edition (Anna of Cleeves), Frozen JR (Anna) and many more. She has also completed a number of singing exams in musical theatre and rock and pop. Grace works as our Tots assistant and loves being able to share her love for performing with the younger generation. Grace loves seeing Top Box grow and is grateful for the many memories it has created. She enjoys getting to share her love of performing to other people and watching them grow and improve.

Izzy Kimberley

Izzy has been a member of Top Box since she was around 6 years old. She has performed with Top Box in many shows such as Carrie (Carrie), Les Miserables (Eponine), Six (Jane Seymour), Beauty and the Beast (Lefou) and many others. Alongside taking part in Top Box productions and sessions, Izzy successfully auditioned at BOA( Birmingham Ormiston Academy) for their Musical Theatre pathway where she has been studying for 2 years and will be continuing her studies for a further 2 years. Top Box has been a key part of Izzy's journey in musical theatre and is looking forward to working on its upcoming projects.

Paula Taylor

Paula currently supports young people and families within Warwickshire. She has many years worth of experience working as a safeguard lead and educational welfare officer in Worcestershire and Warwickshire schools. As Tracy’s sister she has been part of her journey and proudly watched the growth of Vocalize and Top Box over the years. She shares the team’s passion for inspiring young people and creating opportunities for them to be the best versions of themselves they can be. Working closely with children with special educational needs she understands the importance of enabling children to be themselves and creating a safe place for each child to feel confident to express themselves. Paula is excited to join the team to support the management team with all aspects of child protection and administration.

Lily (Head of Wellbeing)

Lily has recently stepped into her role as Head of Wellbeing and is a fully registered therapy dog. With her loveable nature and calming presence, she’s here to support any of our members who may need a moment of pause, a little comfort, or just a friendly ear (she’s a fantastic listener!). Whether you're having a tough day or simply need a breather, Lily is always up for a cuddle and a quiet moment. Her favourite things in life are swimming, snoozing in sunny spots, and enjoying a good meal (preferably followed by more snoozing). Lily’s presence is a big part of the safe, welcoming environment we aim to create. She reminds us of the importance of rest, connection, and, of course, snacks!
